Lake District Maps come in all shapes and sizes. They are available in traditional sheet format, in books and now digital format that can be printed off at home.

Below is a link from the googlemap site that shows three separate views. The three boxes at the top right show ...MAP a standard road map, SAT a satellite view from space with photo quality imaging and TER, this gives you a three dimensional view of the land features.
The map is also scalable, try clicking on the + and - arrows to zoom in and out. When you move your mouse over the map screen an open hand appears, try clicking and holding the left mouse button and dragging the image. Double clicking with the left or right mouse button also zooms in and out of the map.

OS Explorer Maps
OS Explorer Maps are ideal for navigating popular Long Distance Routes, coastal paths and National Trails. For walkers and outdoor visitors to the Lake District, these maps are essential.
