The Macdonald Swan ... 3 Star ***
hotel lies in 33 acres of its own grounds, on the northern edge of the village of Grasmere, overlooked by Helm
Crag. The hotel is approximately half way between Windermere and Keswick, an ideal starting point for
exploring the lakes, valleys and mountain scenery. Many guest rooms have magnificent views in addition to
full en suite facilities, television, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and iron.
The restaurant offers delicious cuisine, as well as a catering service for private dining events and banquets.
Further facilities at the Swan Hotel include a bar, conference facilities and free parking.
The Waterside Hotel ... 4 Star **** is set in beautiful grounds on the shore of Lake Grasmere, and right opposite Dove
Cottage - Wordsworth's home. Each of the 72 guest bedrooms is well-equipped and comfortably
furnished. Rooms come equipped with a private bathroom, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities
and a television. Amenities include a restaurant, bar, lounge, games room, and free car-parking
facilities. The Waterside Hotel also offers four meeting rooms, ideal for business meetings and
other events, with the largest room seating 110 delegates.
The Grasmere Red Lion Hotel ... 3 Star *** is situated in Grasmere and is the perfect base from which to
explore England's most beautiful National Park. All of the 47 rooms are en-suite and come
equipped with an in-room refreshments tray, trouser press, hairdryer, telephone, room service
and sky television. The Courtyard Restaurant and Four Seasons Conservatory offer an excellent
choice of table d'hote and a la carte cuisine, whilst The Lamb Inn situated next door, offers
traditional Lakeland ale and food. The Grasmere Red Lion Hotel’s Leisure Club features a
fitness room, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and a sparkling new indoor swimming pool. There
is also free membership to a nearby Leisure Club for those who fancy a game of squash.
